Not long to the weekend now, don’t know why I am so excited? Moving out of my girlfriends and into my own flat, then working on Sunday, so its going to be a very busy time again.

Anyway, today I am have started a rewire on an unoccupied house, I have sited a temporary consumers unit with a couple of sockets, then been chasing out all day with my wall chaser, so I was absolutely filthy. Got a lot more to do tomorrow, so another horrible day ahead of me.

I didn’t have an evening job today, but did nip to Bolton, to survey another kitchen rewire. Its not a bad job with a load of downlights and fancy accessories.

Wednesday

Yet another good and very busy day. I have been in a real good mood all day. Its just amazing how quickly the day passes, when you have a smile on your face. Everything has went to plan and for once the times I allocated to a job were spot on……I know, I know its miraculous, I usually chase my tail in the afternoon, and miss lunch just to catch up. But not today. I even managed a ½ hour in the van listening to music and eating some tesco sandwiches.

Anyway of the day was to go and start a second fix at a farm I have been working at, as the job has not to be finished until the end of March I only worked the morning and in the afternoon I nipped to second fix a kitchen that I started about 6 weeks ago, but have been unable to return because the kitchen fitted broke his arm, and its taken them that long to find someone else, but its all finished now.

My evening job was to second fix another kitchen, managed to get the sockets and lights working, but the cooker is faulty so that has still to be connected, also the kitchen fitter has cocked up the under unit lights, so they need sorting too.

I have just arrived home now (9.20) and am watching the football and drin king a large vodka and coke.

Bust time coming up, have a rewire starting tomorrow, then another immediately after that one finishes.

What a marvellous day in Preston. The sun was shining, the grass was growing and the lovers were loving. Although together it was a real feel good day. However, a slow say on the work front, I should have been wiring a heating system, but got a call from the plumber earlier who told me he had ran behind and would not be needed until tomorrow. Its going to create havoc with my week as I now have a backlog. Unfortunately I didn’t have a evening job, so its not been a profitable day .…..in fact I have not made a penny. Hey ho not to worry, the remainder of the week is looking extremely busy.

Monday

I have just returned form my monthly visit to see me lad in Inverness. It’s a long auld haul but well worth it when I eventually arrive. The journey up was dodgy with the rain and the snow, but I managed to get there about an late.

The little sod tried hard to con yet another mobile phone from me, but unusually for me I resisted his pleadings and didn’t get him one. It was his turn on Saturday to be the responsible adult. So there was no snowball fights, building of snowmen or sledging (he is a proper kill joy since he turned 15) anyway, we went to the cinema, shopping for some stuff for my new flat and basically behaved ourselves. Not to worry, next time its my chance to be the responsible adult and we can do some fun stuff.

Ye Gods. Yet another miracle, two consecutive days without rain while I am working outside!!! Never has such a thing happened before, but I will take every small mercy that comes my way with open arms. You know what they say, “the sun shines on the righteous”.

Had yet another good day, me and my mate are wiring loads of outside lights, not actually much of a job, but the cable runs are really awkward and its all working at height….a great height. In fact I am that high the people below me look like ants. Or they could actually be ants, not sure. I am an electrician of very little brain.

Back to wire more outside lights tomorrow. I just know its going to be a brillant day.

Tomorrow night I am driving to Inverness to see my lad, cant wait, booked the hotel and got a wallet full of dosh. I will need it!

Miracles never cease. In fact I am truly shocked and stunned, Why I hear you cry…. well simple, I was working outside today and it didn’t rain, in fact it was an amazing day. The sun was shining, the grass was growing and the lovers were loving. (Well I think that’s what I could hear)

Today I was working in Clitheroe, wiring outside lights, I managed to get most of the easy stuff done, and will do the awkward stuff tomorrow when my mate arrives. My job this evening was to replace an oven and hob. But when I got there the hot in the worktop was to big for the hob and the oven didn’t fit into the base unit. With a bit of jiggery pokery I managed to fit the oven, but the worktop is made from granite and there is little I could do to fit the hob. Anyway, they are have called the kitchen fitter, who appears to have washed his hands of the problem.  The funny thing was that they blamed me for the whole being the wrong size. Not to worry, I didn’t cut or measure the hole, in fact it’s the first time I have been in the house or worked with this kitchen fitter. Can’t see me working for him again.

Work is now done, certificates have been e-mailed, estimates sorted and now got me feet up on the coffee table with a large vodka and ice. It does not get much better on a Tuesday night. Owe aye, the dog and girlfriend are snoring away in unison. Honestly, its in stereo. Not to worry I am to chilled to care.

So what have I been up to today, I here you cry……installing intruder alarms. 2 to be precise. I detest intruder alarms almost as much as liquorice. I then fitted a TV amplifier and wires a point in a bedroom, followed by an evening job of fitting a light in a bathroom. In other words I have had a really boring day.

I have a few days work starting tomorrow, installing outside lights, the weather forecast is crap, but I am going to bed tonight with positive vibes. I know its going to be a fab day tomorrow, so if anyone does read this, I only want positive thoughts about tomorrows weather…..if I get wet tomorrow, its your fault.

Monday again

Monday again

Hallelujah Monday is over, how happy am I about that. its been a busy day although I don’t seem to have done anything. I went to a clinic in Garstang (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/GarstangPhysiotherapyClinic)

Where I finished testing and replaced an outside light. Simon & Lynley are the owners and have been physio for years, but have only recently decided that wanted to set up there own clinic, they are really good and nice folks and I wish them every bit of luck in there venture. If there is any justice in the word, they will become fabulously successful with a string on clinics up and down the country. If there is anyone around Garstang, or a family members, a friend, neighbour or someone they meet in the shipping queue has an ailment that could be helped with a course of physiotherapy, then these guys are for you. If I was not so fit and healthy, and in the peak of physical I would have hopped up on there table long ago.  

Anyway, after that I nipped around the corner form my house and installed a bathroom mirror light, that was quickly followed by an evening job where I replaced an outside light.

Its been a day of lights with a wee bit of testing thrown in for good measure.

I am now sitting at home with my hound on my lap, snoring away.  That’s the hound snoring not me, that comes in a couple of hours.

I have also put together a new facebook page for my electrical business, so will be playing with that in a moment.

Super Sunday

I have not blogged in a couple of days. Life has been absolutely hectic and I have not had a minute. Was called out to a residential home that had a fire and pretty much destroyed the switch room, so I busy restoring the power and lighting on a temporary basis. It still needs sorting out properly, but it needs planned and a lot of preparation so it runs smoothly. That’s basically all I have done for the last days.

I have also sorted out my accounts, a couple of invoices and made paid some invoices via internet banking. (which is undoubtedly one of god gifts to a busy spark)

Anyway, tomorrow I have got a test to do in Garstang; then fit some bathroom lights followed by a noght job of replacing an outside light. That reminds me, I have to remember and put my ladders on the van tomorrow.

Tremendous Thursday.

 Yet another good day! Had a bit of a lye in this morning, the first job wasn’t until after 10, so I had a couple of vodkas watched the football and a late night. Also I was looking through some over due invoices, and realised that I was owed money the equivalent to the income of a small American state. So once again I went debit collecting tonight, as usual my I was told every excuse under the sun. I can feel a small claims court coming on for a couple of them.

My first job today was to replace a couple lights, shower and cooker, a nice little job, but would have preferred it on a Friday afternoon. This afternoon I nipped along to a clinic in Garstang (Garstang phisio) if you ever have a bad back, broken body or just fancy a class or two of pilates, that’s the place for you. The owners are really great people and will make you feel welcome. (shameless plug) anyway, I have been rewired the clinic recently, and was just fitting the outside trough lighting to illuminate there sings. They look really great and I should have taken some photos, but as usual, the electricians brain is missing. What a good day! This morning went well because I didn’t get stuck in traffic, which is rare occurrence nowadays, I was working outside and it didn’t rain, it wasn’t cold and the sun almost poked its weary head through the clouds  owe and I picked up another good job. So all in all its been a good day. Owe aye and after spilling vodka on my keyboard last night it appears that its almost dried out, with only a couple of keys ticking…one of them is the s.

Today I was working in a millionaires house in Formby, been working there off and on for the last year. I have been held up by the builders, who did a little then stooped for a while, then went back for a few days then stopped. If I was the client I would have went round to the builders house and stuck a baseball bat up the builders nightdress. But he is a nice laid back bloke who was happy with progress.
