As I sit reflecting on the day, all I can think about is how the hell did I manage to wake up with the  other of hangovers this morning. I thought it was a mystery that would bewilder the greatest minds of out time, then I remembered I had a late start this morning so I watched some late night TV and had a couple of drink while doing so. Note to self….don’t drink quite as much on a school night.

Anyhow. I had a job arranged today to test some student accomodation today. I had a request from the landlord to start the test after 10.30, I wasn’t to keen but I thought what the hell the late start will give me a chance to tidy up my lockup. So when I arrived at 10.30, the landlord opened the door and said “sorry don’t want it done any longer, have decided to sell the house. He then slammed the door. Bastard. I was not happy. I was really lucky that I could fill the afternoon buy installing a wireless thermostat at “Garstang Physio Clinc”. The owners are Simon & Lynley, and are absolutely fabulous people and if anyone ever needs there services, I could not recommend them highly enough, they will take great care of you! Think I must be getting old!....why do I hear you cry. Simple I am sitting watching an old movie which is 22 years ago and it only seems like yesterday since I saw it for the first time. I think that must be a definite sign of aging… along with the dodgy knees, the aching shoulders, arthritic fingers and general debilitation are all signs that I am heading for the knackers yard. I think I will have to check to see if I have hairs coming from my ears.

Anyway, its been a long old day, done a load of messing about but very little work. In fact the only thing I have done is repair some lights, then travel to a factory I maintain who were having a problem with some lights that I installed, when I arrived there found the switch was off. That was the extent of the problem. Getting a bit worried now because I don’t have a busy day tomorrow either. Sure something will turn up.

Tuesday.

Phew what a day! I have been mega busy. How happy am I to be at home now with a nice cold cider and a culinary delight….well perhaps not a delight. Been doing a lot of cooking lately! Wouldn’t you think that I would have developed some skills, but alas not. Decided to have a couple of boiled eggs yesterday, so there I was cooking the perfect eggs, the toast had been spread and was waiting for me to devoured it, after 3 minutes I removed the eggs from the boiling water only to remember I don’t have an egg cup. So I had to balance them on top of an empty bottle of beer. Got to give myself a D for memory recall but an A for ingenuity.

Anyway, it’s been a busy, busy day. I have been second fixing a loft conversion in a builder’s house. Its almost there now, just waiting for a chandelier and wall lights to complete it. Once again I didn’t have an evening job, but I did manage to survey a couple of smallish jobs.

Earlier today I had to pass on a job, because the kitchen fitter wanted me to start next week, pity because it would have fairly lucrative. But the good news is I have to survey a job next week, which will involve changing a few consumers unit and inspecting a very large care home. With a bit of luck I will get that work, because it may lead to lots of other works. We will need to wait and see how I get on.

Monday again

Another good day….and where has this weather come from, may need to take my thermals off soon. Arrived home around 8ish, made a culinary delight which consisted of last nights left over casserole and bread. Now enjoying a vodka & coke and relaxing watching some old 70s war movie.

I was working in the middle of no where today, doing some testing with a mate who does not have a lot of experience of testing commercial premises. Its been a long day because I was mainly watching him test and passing on some tips and words of wisdom…..well when I say wisdom I really mean sense….well when I say sense I really mean nonsense. Anyway we managed to get it all completed, and I think he has gone away a little bit wiser.

What a weekend. Don’t think I have a moment to myself. Wish I could say I have spent it with friends watching football, having a pint, going for a walk in the sun or just chilling reading a good “mills & boon”. But I cant….well I could but it would be a lie. On Friday I nipped up to Inverness, (7 hour journey) to attend the funeral of my ex-mother in law. Who was a dam fine woman, when I arrived I met a lass that I have not seen for a few years and our reunion was like a scene from Wuthering Heights all which was very nice despite the sad occasion.  After that I drove another 4 hours to my parents and stayed there over night. On Saturday I was up early again to drive home and rewire a circuit of sockets.

Today I was up early to watch the grand prix, then off to work. Not a taxing day but finishing off loads of bit.

Now I have just taken a break form invoices, quotes and certificates, not quite finished yet, but have decided to have a celebratory vodka and coke.

I have returned!

I am back!!!

After a long, long absence I have returned to social networking and blogging. I could tell why I have had a months absence, but to be honest by the time you read the second sentence you would have lapsed into unconsciousness and eventually your brain wither and die by the monotony of it all. So rather than have that on my conscience I have decided not to tell you…..you will thank me really

On the work front I have been very busy, with 2 rewires, a couple of extensions, some outside garden work and loads of work at night. Infact I have been working 12 hours each day since the last time I put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard.

Anyway that’s it for tonight, because its late, and I can smell my meal turning into charcoal in the oven. Think it may need some rescuing, or the wave of a magic wand to make it edible.
